Group Music Therapy Sessions
We provide group music therapy to groups and facilities all around Atlanta. Find out more HERE.
We also offer several group formats in our studios. Current programs and registration HERE.
Learning and practicing social skills in a music-making environment provides the right combination of fun, motivation and challenge. Each week, group members will participate in a variety of music-making activities and ensembles. These activities are created and implemented with specific social skills in mind. During the semester, we will utilize a wide variety of instruments, plus vocal and movement activities. Group members are assigned “homework” each week to transition these new skills to their larger social venue.
MUSIC CLUB & TEEN MUSIC CLUB
This weekly, therapeutic group will provide a positive, social atmosphere where adults with special needs can make music and friends all at the same time! Each week, group members will participate in music-making activities and games. We use our voices, bodies and lots of instruments to make music from a wide variety of genres!
“Beth made me a believer in Music Therapy. I have witnessed her take children with very difficult behaviors and successfully bring them in to a cooperative group experience. She has a keen eye for the needs of those in her group and responds to those needs, often before they are apparent to anyone else. I highly recommend Beth as an extremely qualified and effective individual in her field.” -Ryan Mitchell, OTR/L “It has been a pleasure to be both professionally and personally acquainted with Beth Hampshire for over 12 years. She and her staff exemplify the words ethical, professional, creative and adaptable. Her group skills expertise has consistently and immeasurably enriched our social skills program, POP™ Personal Options and Preferences™. Children come to “therapy” knowing that they do not do things as well as others, self-esteem is often fragile at best, and the willingness to engage in unfamiliar tasks can be daunting. Beth and her staff surmount these concerns seamlessly with aplomb, sensitivity, intelligence and caring. Beth and her team not only bring out the best in the children, but also the adults with whom they interact as well. If you are looking for music therapy, look no further than MTS of GA.” -Susan Orloff, OTR/L, Director Children’s Special Services, LLC
“Our daughter started music with MTS of GA before she could walk. After a year of classes, she sings in the car, loves to play instruments and dance – and sings herself to sleep. All of us look forward to every class. Everyone at MTS of GA is wonderful and so invested in the kids. Thank you for bringing so much to our family!” -Kendra & James Cox
